Just a personal prayer...

Lord God you see my heart, you see my hearts desires. You planted them there! They are desires to serve you and to do your will. Please help me to remember to be patient and show me how I can cool it and relax, knowing that my future is in your hands.

I don't know what is going to happen, and I don't know where you will lead me, but I ask you to open doors for me, make things happen. I am tired of feeling like I am doing nothing. I am tired of my gifts not being used.

Keep developing me and growing me. Keep teaching me and preparing me for the appointed time.

Psalm 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he takes delight in his way.

I don't want to be guilty of not using my talents and gifts. If I can't see how to use them, show me. Provide me with opportunities. I need you because I don't know what to do. I hate knowing what I am supposed to do, but no knowing how to get there!!!

Lord you have ordered my steps - I believe in you and believe in your will for my life. I leave these concerns in your hands, and I will rest easy (well will try to) knowing that you have it under control

Amen.

PS: Sorry readers if this seems cryptic. I just needed to get this out. :)

Meant to have Mentors

Hebrews 13:7 Remember your leaders who have spoken God's word to you. Think about how their lives turned out, and imitate their faith.

There are Christians in this world that I would love to be like. There is a woman in my past who I don't see much now, but I would love to be like her. She is such a kind and gracious woman. The love of Christ shines from her face. She brings a sense of peace and goodness to any yuck situation. She was amazing!! She served tirelessly, she loved with everything in her, and her resources were straight from God. I would love to be like her.

There is a worship leader/singer in our Satelite church. She is amazing! You know that what she has is real - she isn't performing. She has a deep and real connection with God. I would love to be able to express my worship like her. Not only is her worship amazing, but her personal life is one of faith, even in crisis. She battled cancer, yet she continued to praise God and proclaim His goodness!

Each and everyone should have people that we look up to and respect. That we are willing to learn from. We aren't meant to plod along on our own. God has given us people who have gone before us, so we can learn from them. God has brought people into our lives to teach us and for us to come under their leadership.

If we think we can do it on our own. If we think we don't need a role model or a mentor. if we think we are so far in our Christian faith that we don't need to be taught and don't need another Christian's influence, then we have a spirit of pride that needs to be addressed. We have an unteachable spirit that needs working on. Not one Christian has ever "arrived". We all need to learn. And one of those sources is a mentor.

If you don't have a person who can mentor you, who can teach you about faith, about God, about His Word, who can teach you by their choices, by their life - then go and find one. Be careful in your choice though. Choose one who is for real, has a deep relationship with God, whose life is above board and proves that it's bearing fruit of the spirit.

I thank God for the people He has given me that are my teachers and my examples.

Fear Not!

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Photobucket

There is a sticker I see on people's car that says "No Fear".

It's a good motto to have and we should tattoo it to our hearts - a permanent reminder that we do not have to fear anything.
Some of us can be controlled by our fears - we can be afraid of people and their reactions, afraid of rejection, of being hurt, afraid of condemnation and criticism. Fear of failure, fear of God and what he will do with you if you surrender completely.

There are many things to fear and I have only mentioned a few. I know that life's circumstance can fill us with fear and can almost be paralysing.
But God's Word releases us from that fear - because it says God has not given us fear - it's not a God thing. It's not God's will that we live in fear - but that we be courageous - have our head up. He has filled us with love and a confidence that fills us with peace.

I'm excited! What God wants for us what he fills us with, you can't get anywhere else!

MY PRAYER
Thankyou God that your will is for me to live a life, secure in you. My security and my courage is sourced from you. When I do feel fear, I pray that I remember that I can call on you to fill me with love, power and peace.
Amen.

Psalm 15

PSALM 15
God, who gets invited to dinner at your place? How do we get on your guest list?

"Walk straight, act right, tell the truth.

"Don't hurt your friend, don't blame your neighbor; despise the despicable.

"Keep your word even when it costs you, make an honest living, never take a bribe.

"You'll never get blacklisted if you live like this."

MY PRAYER
Lord I want to be a woman of integrity. I want to walk straight and honor you with my life. Thankyou that we have the opportunity to share intimacy with you and that it's ours for the taking. Thankyou that you speak so loud and clear through your Word.

Amen.

Sow sow and sow some more!

Galatians 6:7 Make no mistake about this: You can never make a fool out of God. Whatever you plant is what you'll harvest.

I love this scripture. It's just so pointed and Captain Obvious!

What YOU plant is what YOU harvest.

I often hear Christians moaning about not receiving blessings from God.
What YOU plant is what YOU havest.

I often hear Christians complaining about the size of the church, the lack of programs that are suitable, that such and such church is much better.

That's because there are people in that place who have sowed their time, their finances, their expertise, their entertainment time to spend it in prayer. Successful churches don't happen all by themselves. Sucessful programs don't just develop and workers miraculously appear. People don't just rock up at the door - it's the people who sow into their lives and invite them, look after them as a guest in The House. What YOU plant is what YOU havest.

The more you sow, the greater the harvest will be.

We can't seriously expect to reap great havests if there has been no effort on our part. We can't demand the blessing of God and expect great things if we sow very little. God gave YOU His Son, so you can live a life of freedom and blessing. What can YOU give back? What can you sow into the ministry? Into the kingdom of God?

Make a decision today to sow more of your finances, more of your time, more of your abilities. Sow sow sow, so you can reap great harvests.

MY PRAYER
Lord I want your blessings. I want to reap great things. I want to see so much harvest. Help me sow into the right areas - show me where you want me to sow.
Amen.

I will give thanks to God for my awesomeness! :)

Psalm 139:14-18 I will give thanks to you because I have been so amazingly and miraculously made. Your works are miraculous, and my soul is fully aware of this.
Photobucket

My bones were not hidden from you when I was being made in secret, when I was being skillfully woven in an underground workshop.
Your eyes saw me when I was only a fetus.

Photobucket Every day of my life was recorded in your book before one of them had taken place.
Photobucket
How precious are your thoughts concerning me, O God! How vast in number they are!
If I try to count them, there would be more of them than there are grains of sand. When I wake up, I am still with you.
